Plus the Travel Agent was not hopeful we would be able to refund the adult but not the infant ticket. We thought we could then get a refund for the adult ticket, but were told we had to buy an excessively expensive fare to have the flexible ticket - the infant fare would then be more than double than adding to our current booking and as someone has pointed out an a different thread Infant fares are not cheap as the discount obnly applies to the base fare not all the add on taxes etc. They would have had to charge us for 1 adult and 1 child. Unfortunately you are unable to book an infant ticket without an adult ticket- your suggestion is something we asked our local travel agent as BA Reservations wouldn't do it. I have sent a number of e-mails since the original one over 4 months ago and have had no response from any of them. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Thank you in advance. Otherwise my poor wee girl would be ticketless come our flight in 3 months time. BA Customer Services, who I e-mailed, have not responded in 4 months? Our local Travel Agent has been busy arguing with them saying she can issue the ticket and provide BA with the relevent details, but BA would not accept this. Sorry for the long ramble, but now for my question what do you do? BA couldn't offer any suggestions and rudely put the phone down on me. They did advise us to go to the airport and sort it out - 'Auckland Airport as we were in NZ', but did not know NZ has 2 Islands and the small town we live in on the South Island is a VERY VERY long way from AKL!! They also advised us that as we had made the initial booking with BA Online Reservations a local Travel Agent would not be able to add the infant. It ended up that the only way to add an infant onto an existing booking was to do it in person at a BA/Qantas Sales Desk. Confused by that one!!! NZ may be a long way from anywhere, but we do have a postal service they could use to send us our ticket or even let me pay for it and collect it when we get to BNE.(Flying there with ANZ from our baby airport only serviced by ANZ.) They claimed they did not know where we lived (NZ) despite them being able to quote my address in the next sentence!!!! They say this was why we were given continual conflicting information. They called us back about 6 times (all in the middle of the night which added to my annoyance) each time giving different infomation. I telephoned BA Reservations who were more than happy to sort it out quoting the cost, taking my Credit Card details and confirming my postal address for the paper ticket to be sent to. Initially booked 2 adults and 1 child WT BNE-LHR using BA Online Reservations then a couple of months later needed to add an infant to this booking.

We have come across what seems like a bizarre situation with BA.
